London
England
London, a city filled with history and vibrant energy, welcomed us for two unforgettable weeks. Ellie’s parents came for a quick visit, and we indulged in the quintessential British experience of high tea, savoring decadent pastries and sipping aromatic tea. We also delighted our taste buds with several authentic Indian feasts.
A few days into our stay, we witnessed a truly remarkable event—the coronation of King Charles III. Despite the downpour, we stood in awe as the historic procession unfolded before our eyes.
Ellie reconnected with a childhood friend who now lives in London. She graciously took on the role of our personal guide, showing us several hidden gems, shopping areas, and lively bars.
We also mastered the intricacies of the London Underground, affectionately known as the Tube. Navigating the city with ease, we explored iconic landmarks; notably, a visit to the Churchill War Rooms immersed us in the history of World War II.
As our time in London drew to a close, we had the pleasure of sharing lunch in the crypt of a church with Kale’s parents' friends.
London captivated our hearts with its grandeur, diverse culture, and warm hospitality. We departed with a sense of fulfillment, grateful for the experiences and deepened connections to this remarkable city and its people. Until we meet again, London!
